Responsibilities

• Administers employee insurance programs including life, disability, and health insurance plans which includes enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
• Administers employee savings plans that may include the company’s 401(k) plan, personal savings plans, and deferred compensation programs.
• Advises and informs employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
• Assists the HR team to ensure compensation plans are up to date and competitive.
• Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
• Assist our third-party partner to ensure our benefit providers are meeting the company’s needs, compliance, and requirements.
• Ensures the organization’s and plans’ compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation and benefits administration.
• Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
• Assist with audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
• Completes orientation, employment verifications, onboarding and offboarding related tasks.
• Prepare and manage employee files.
• Assists with the overall functions of the HR team to ensure that the company’s goals and needs are met.

• Other duties as assigned as company needs dictate.

Qualifications

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3-5 years’ experience administering compensation or benefits programs preferred.
• Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• HRIS, NetSuite, and Employer Navigator system knowledge preferred.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be a self-starter who works with integrity while also being a strong team player.
• Ability to delegate effectively to meet the company’s objectives and goals.
