Creo Illustrate Essentials
Sequence and Animation (3D, VR/AR)
Essentials
For creation of any animated view of the content whether it’s for traditional 3D animations on the desktop, or for use in creating AR/VR experiences.
Windchill Integration (PLM, SLM & MFG)
Essentials
Allows connection of Creo Illustrate with Windchill either for PLM, Service or Manufacturing). Can use either the workgroup manager or direct connection.
CAD data Associativity
Essentials
Automatically update illustrations when associated CAD data changes.
Multi Format Publishing
Essentials
Allows for publication to multiple 3D, 2D vector/raster formats as well as formatted PDF.
Standards & Profiles
Essentials
Allows standards to be enforced across all illustrators, for example line weights, colors, text sizes. Profiles allows for a subset of a standard to be applied to illustrations depending on the use- case, for example a parts list versus an animated disassembly sequence, or rules on how parts are displayed.
Localization
Essentials
Define source & required languages for an illustration & manage the translation process either with or without Windchill translation management. End-user can then select which language they require within the graphic & text & notes will appear in the selected language.
Massive Assembly
Essentials
For users of massive models (over 16GB) this option allows for use of more than 16GB Memory on a local machine.
BOM Editing
Essentials
Enables editing of the BOM structure within Creo Illustrate. Parts can be grouped or combined into service kits or sub-assemblies, either for easier animation or so that only a whole sub-assembly, for example a pump, can be ordered rather than the individual constituent parts
Part Replacement
Essentials
Allows for an old part out to be swapped for a new part. The new part assumes any callouts or notes that were previously assigned to the old part within Creo Illustrate.
Assemble and Smart Explode
Essentials
Assemble allows for alignment of for example holes, faces – this allows for accurate positioning of parts as they are assembled in Creo Illustrate. This is important for cases where a lot of assembly is done within Creo Illustrate. Without this tool then parts can only be assembled by dragging a part into its position. Smart Explode automatically explodes selected parts within an assembly.
Floating License
Essentials
Can have a floating license of Creo Illustrate.
3D to 2D Figure Associativity

Professor Rajesh Bhaskaran

Ph.D. Swanson Director of Engineering Simulation, Cornell University

I see Creo Simulation Live as a valuable teaching tool as it removes the barrier of having to learn how to use a simulation tool. Educators can focus on teaching the concepts, demonstrating the physics in action and how to assess the results. Similarly, students can get right to the physics and discover without having to become simulation experts first. This tool will allow true democratization of simulation.

Stephan Esser

Designer, SQlab GmbH

Creo Simulation Live is the perfect solution to help me design new products that work the first time. I am not a Simulation expert, but now I can do Stress Analysis myself. It is so easy to set up, runs fast and automatically stays synchronized with my design changes.

Bob Tickel

Director of Structural & Dynamics Analysis , Corporate R&T

When I first saw Discovery Live I was very intrigued. I believe it could be a game changer, and greatly help in democratization of modeling and simulation. It has the potential for our specialists and designers to do “what if” studies much, much faster and easier.

Jacobs

Analytics

I was blown away by the speed and ease of use of Discovery. The time to complete an analysis is on the order of minutes as opposed to hours. You will be able to perform your first analysis in less than 15 minutes.

Mainstreaming our operations is completed with PTC Windchill in combination with Creo. We utilize it all the way from design to production, fabrication, and assembly. It’s all paperless so everything is live, up-to-date information.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below you’ll find answers to our most commonly asked questions.

You can count on personalized support around the clock – by email, live chat, or by joining a live webinar.

How accurate is Creo Simulation Live?
Accuracy with any modeling and simulation tool depends on many factors. Creo Simulation Live uses a proprietary solution formulation approach for near-instant result feedback. There are slight differences between CSL and traditional FEA tools. but do not compare to other sources of uncertainty. CSL is a design “direction finder” for qualitative analysis.
What is the difference between Creo Simulation Live and Creo Simulate?

Creo Simulation Live (CSL) yields instantaneous results enabling design engineers to iterate the model and make decisions with fewer interruptions. Although CSL covers most use cases, Creo Simulate offers a broader range of possibilities. Creo Simulate has a classic simulation workflow consisting of setting boundary conditions, meshing, solver computing, and exploring and tracking results.

Does Creo Simulate require users to be an expert in the field of analysis?

No, it does not require users to be an expert in analysis. PTC Creo Simulate gives engineers user-friendly analysis tools to make quality decisions early in the design process.

Can Creo Simulation Live replace Creo Simulate?

Creo Simulation Live complements Creo Simulate but can not be a replacement. Creo Simulate is vital to solving complex problems and final validation for your designs.

What do I use for high-end analysis?

Use Creo Simulate, Creo Simulation Live Extension, and Creo Flow Analysis.

COMPANY TESTIMONIALS

NASA

Tasked with designing rocket launch test stands for NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, discover how Merrick leveraged powerful PTC Creo Simulate engineering technology along with EAC’s partnership solutions to engineer NASA’s Liquid Hydrogen Tank and Liquid Oxygen Tank.

In this video you will see how Merrick’s engineers created solutions for NASA as they developed and tested concepts that required the ability to withstand certain forces. It was developed to support large tanks while withstanding significant forces from the push and pull of millions of pounds of load against the test stands and the test stand articles.

Randy J. Soukup

Engineering Systems Analyst, Daktronics

It’s unbelievable to see. Simple, instantaneous, with multiple design iterations done in seconds, where it could take weeks doing that previously. And, such an easy user interface. Everything gets applied easily and starts spitting out the results in real-time, right there in the Creo model.

W. Scott Taylor

Senior Mechanical Engineer, NASA Marshall Space Flight Center

The ease of use and live link with the solver makes adding loads with automatic updates very intuitive. From where I’m sitting I think that our designers could have a significant impact, by way of reduction, on time loss due to a burdened “hand off” to Analysis and “return” to Design cycle history

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below you’ll find answers to our most commonly asked questions.

You can count on personalized support around the clock by email, live chat, or by joining a live webinar.

What is Creo Simulation?
Creo Simulation is a structural, thermal, and vibration analysis solution. It provides comprehensive capabilities to analyze and validate the performance of 3D virtual prototypes (CAD Models).
Does Creo Simulate require users to be an expert in the field of analysis?

No, it does not require users to be an expert in analysis. PTC Creo Simulate gives engineers user-friendly analysis tools to make quality decisions early in the design process.

Why should simulation be a part of my design process?

The traditional iterative method begins with a model, then testing, then requires refining the model multiple times over. With simulation, engineers can explore different iterations and understand product performance earlier in the design process. Simulation-led design integrated with ANSYS software considerably shortens the time from concept to completion.

What do I use for high-end analysis?

Use Creo Simulate, Creo Simulation Live Extension, and Creo Flow Analysis.
